February Play! by Sephora Bag
Sunday, March 19, 2017
Play! by Sephora is my favorite beauty subscription. What I like most about it is that you're getting deluxe samples from brands you've heard of and can stand behind. Oh, that expensive but intriguing highlighter your saw your favorite Youtuber raving about? Probably a chance you'll receive it in your box to see if it's really something worth falling in love for. You'll also get a chance to earn 50 extra Beauty Insider points each month with in-store purchases and you get $10 added to your Beauty Insider spending. February's Play! bag was satin pink (hello, living!) and the theme was #smitten. See what I got in my bag and sign up for yours here:
Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence: Fragrance is not my forte, but this is definitely a light but sexy scent.
Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Milkshake: I should have known from the moment I wiped the swatch of this off my hand and it turned red, that I would not like this. Applied this to my lips, looked great and glossy. The color itself is a light nude, probably for more fair-skinned tones. Not even a minute later, my lips were in flames and I had to wipe it off immediately. Too Faced took lip-plumping to a whole new level, a.k.a. hell. I'll stick to my Buxom Lip Polish.
Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer: The texture of this feels like a silicon gel. It dries quickly so instead of applying all over my face, I will concentrate a pea size amount around my nose area, and I did in fact see some blurring of my medium-sized pores. Definitely not a life-changing product, but great alternative for makeup-free days on the go.
Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound: Bound is a purple-toned mauve that is a little bit darker than I was expecting. However, this lip glide is very sheer and I would recommend pairing this with a same-toned lip liner all over the lips. At first I thought this felt like a gloss, but the claims are "matte but satin finish" and this holds true to that.
Sephora Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara: The first thing I noticed about this was that it separated my lashes, which is very important to me in a mascara. This also made it great to use on my bottom lashes. It also lengthened my lashes and lasted the entirety of my day. This mascara made me feel as if I was wearing my own lashes but better.
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream: Didn't notice too much with this product, but I did pop it under my eyes at night or in the morning and felt a bit of refresh. Placebo effect??
